ADVENT Reflections Through Scripture and Film

Join us for our 2025 Advent reflection series through scripture and film. Dr. Jeff S. will be leading this four-week series as we reflect through films that portray the coming of Jesus Christ in our world. Sessions will be offered in-person and online.

Jeff, with his wife Barbara, have been members of BUMC since 1997. Jeff has a Ph.D. in New Testament from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, with a specialization in the Gospel of John. He has taught at the University of Portland, Notre Dame, Pacific Lutheran University, and Seattle University, retiring in 2012. He has taught and written extensively on the subject of Bible and Film.
